Build the next generation of spatial proteomics with us

Resolute Bio is a molecular intelligence company. Our aim is to redefine how we understand and treat human disease. Our in-house data generation platform, ResOne, combines tissue imaging, laser microdissection of small tissue regions, automated sample preparation, and mass spectrometry.
In early 2027, Resolute Bio opens a dedicated R&D laboratory in central Copenhagen. We are looking for a Head of Platform R&D to shape its direction, hire and lead its team, and advance our ResOne spatial proteomics platform.
You will help choose the instruments, set research priorities, and turn promising methods into reliable workflows. Our aim is to better understand disease and help inform personalized medicine by measuring proteins in their native tissue context.
Our current platform, ResOne, combines tissue imaging, laser microdissection of microregions, miniaturized sample preparation, and mass spectrometry. ResOne has profiled over a billion pixels and quantified hundreds of millions of peptide and protein intensity measurements. Our focus is on advancing the platform, improving its sensitivity, throughput, and reliability, while expanding its applications.

The Role

As the Head of Platform R&D, you will own the wet-lab technology roadmap and development into a robust, scalable and automated platform. In this role, you will lead a growing team of scientists and research associates. This is extremely hands-on and fast-paced - combining detailed experimental guidance with the opportunity to develop people and set scientific direction.
We are a very cross-functional organization and you will work closely with our Head of Platform Operations on the next-set of platform capabilities needed on the Operations floor. You will collaborate closely with our software and machine-learning team to ensure those features are developed in a scalable, systematic way. Together, your team will develop, validate, and introduce new capabilities to ResOne. Please note that we use agentic and next-gen AI tools regularly, and expect you to be fluent with them. We expect you to exercise excellent scientific judgment, that will guide technology choices and production readiness.

You Will

  • Set the R&D priorities — improve sensitivity, throughput, sample preparation, automation, and quality across the spatial proteomics workflow.
  • Build and support your team — hire, mentor, and help colleagues design rigorous experiments and turn results into useful platform capabilities.
  • Develop new capabilities — evaluate readouts such as spatial phosphoproteomics (phospho-DVP), guided by scientific value and practical applications.
  • Shape the new lab — evaluate instruments, negotiate purchases, and bring equipment into use across imaging, laser microdissection, mass spectrometry, and liquid handling, including dedicated mass spectrometry capacity.
  • Bring advances into routine use — validate methods, document workflows, and work with Operations to introduce them at production scale.
  • Plan and communicate — set the 12-month plan, manage budgets and instrument capacity, balance development with production support, and discuss progress and trade-offs with the CSO, leadership team, board, and partners.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • PhD in proteomics, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field - or the equivalent in experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience in mass-spectrometry-based proteomics - building, scaling, or running proteomics platforms
  • You have led R&D teams and delivered platform technology into production or routine operation

Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on expertise in LC-MS proteomics, including DIA workflows, method development, and instrument evaluation. Experience can come from timsTOF, Orbitrap Astral-class, or comparable systems.
  • A strong background in lab automation, including liquid handling, miniaturized sample preparation, and workflow integration.
  • A strong command of MS data analysis and platform quality, including DIA search engines, quantification, reproducibility, CVs, batch effects, QC gates, and reference standards. You can assess results critically and work as a peer with CODE and Operations.

You enjoy building methods and teams, stay close to the experimental work, and help others succeed. You make practical decisions, follow through, and explain technical trade-offs clearly to scientists, engineers, and leadership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with laser microdissection, DVP-style spatial proteomics, or ultra-low-input and single-cell workflows
  • Hands-on experience with phosphoproteomics or other automated PTM-enrichment workflows
  • Startup or scaleup experience, including building teams and establishing workflows.
  • Experience working with pharma partners or service customers, shaping new offerings, or negotiating with vendors.
  • A publication or patent record in proteomics technology development
You do not need to tick every box. DVP, laser microdissection, and specific instrument brands can be learned on the job. Experience taking platform technology into production or routine operation is essential from day one.
